Beginning with The Lady With the Dog by Anton Chekhov, we will be analyzing Russian Literature from the perspective how historical events have shaped it.  The Lady with the Dog is a modern short story although it was written in 1899.  It is simply an story about a illicit love affair between two average people, members of the Russian middle class.

Assignment: After viewing the video Streets of Crocodile write a short response about the video, the tone of the video and how the video gives us a certain impression about Eastern European and Russian Literature.
